Highs > Lows

It's been a busy 2 weeks since I've posted! Especially with Joanna coming to visit!!! We had such a fun and refreshing week together that flew by too quickly. We got to do a lot of fun activities, but we made sure to spend quality lazy time together just hanging out and watching TV/movies that we miss out on now. On top of that, we hiked in town, visited the zoo, took a cruise tour to view Portage Glacier, hiked to Exit Glacier in Seward (about 2 miles south of Anchorage), explored downtown, went horseback riding, went shopping, and biked along the coast, downtown, and around the neighborhood trails (where we saw a beaver!). Such a blast! We took a lot more pictures on my phone and her camera, so we'll have to just get those onto Facebook. Needless to say, I hated sending her back! I was really tempted to look into a last minute flight to visit home for a few days to see everyone else including my uncles and cousins who are visiting, but that would

Yay For Little Sisters!

It's been a hectic week in the best way! I finally got to meet Cory's little sister Autumn when she stayed up here for about a week. I loved getting to know her and seeing how much alike she and Cory are and how much we have in common too! The 3 of us had some great adventures. Hiking, kayaking, visiting the zoo, Despicable Me 2, the indoor waterpark ("H2Oasis" haha) and really good food! Now I'm even more excited to meet the rest of Cory's awesome siblings in (hopefully) just a few months! Here are just a few of the dozens of pictures we took this week...       What makes this week even better is that my little sister Joanna is on a flight to Anchorage as we speak to visit for a week! I'M BEYOND EXCITED!!! I've now been away from home for over 6 weeks which is far past my previous record of 2.5 weeks, so am I more than ready for some family time! I can't wait to share the Alaskan adventures that we will endeavor t

First Official Visitor!

This will be another short blog because I have to get to bed so I can wake up before tonight's shift with enough time to meet Cory's sister Autumn who is visiting from Illinois! I'm so excited to have my first official house guest since I've been settled, and this will be the first time I meet any of Cory's siblings! Big week ahead! This past week has been eventful. Finally found a dresser, spent the 4th with Cory and had a mini BBQ, saw Monsters University in theaters, and successfully transitioned to night nursing! 4 shifts down, and I'm feeling more and more confident as an RN. I really like the easy flow and calmness of the night time. There's still a lot to do, but I don't feel as rushed to get it all done. I'm still with a preceptor, but I can now handle 3 patients by myself! Movin on up! I'll have more to report next week with pics after our adventures with Autumn. While the rest of America is saying good morning, I'm saying good n
